The “Weinkulinarium” wine festival on the first weekend in June marks the beginning of the region’s numerous events. Late night shopping in the old town, the historically significant Augustini festivities and the traditional pumpkin festival offer all kinds of wonderful things from delicious rural delicacies to handcrafts as well as music and street artists. Or enjoy some exhilarating dancing at the Dixie and Swing Festival taking place in August. The year ends on a special note with the Styrian thermal spa region’s largest Christmas market in the heart of the city of Fürstenfeld.
Augustini festivities
The motto of “a celebration for any and everyone” is easily fulfilled with all the tradition & celebration, music & festivals as well as art & exhibits that the city has to offer from mid-August to the end of the month. A highlight is always the Augustini street festival centred around the Augustiner Square in the Klostergasse, in the Pfeilburghof Courtyard and at the foot of Ertlberg.
Christmas Market
The Fürstenfeld Christmas market at the centre of the Hauptplatz Square is the largest of its kind in the thermal and volcanic region. On advent weekends guests and locals can enjoy the market’s special atmosphere at any of the 50 Christmas stands offering culinary delicacies, lovingly produced regional products and an endless variety of Christmas present ideas.
